Didactic methods |
The main didactic method is the analysis of texts selected by the teacher (which may be in English) and several current exhibitions and a joint discussion of the achievements of scenographers. Apart from discussion the classes will also contain lecture elements. |

Basic knowledge of art history and theater history is required. |

Teaching goals (program content, subject description) |
The didactic aim of the classes is to familiarize the students with the history of scenography both in its historical dimension and with contemporary contextsit is important that stage design students learn to recognize theater styles and forms, stage conventions and various theatre spaces. |

The form of passing the course (assesment methods and criteria) |
The student's activity during classes (25%) will be assessed i.e. the preparation of assigned tasks, the ability to conduct on independent analysis of works of selected artists. The final grade will also include the presence of the student during classes (25%). During the session, a written exam be prepared in the form of a test on the material covered - the grade will constitute 50% of the final semester grade. |

Final requirements |
The semester grade entered in Akademus will consist of: attendance (25%) + active participation (25%) + passing the written exam in the exam session (50%). |
