Teaching goals (program content, subject description) |
The task of the students of the Spatial Activities Studio is to attempt to recognize and creatively shape the spaces in which we move and act. By defining their own place and exchanging views with representatives of other places, students outline the zones of communication and explore their mutual permeation. Students of the Spatial Activities Studio take actions not only in the area of the Academy of Fine Arts, but also in the city of Warsaw, other localities and external institutions. They pay attention to social and political problems occurring in the space in which they move. Studying at the Studio of Spatial Activities is a complementary element of the professional education of a young artist who, especially nowadays, in addition to talent, must have intelligence and the ability to communicate with the world. The curriculum is designed to gradually and thoroughly prepare students for independent artistic expression, articulated both in institutional and public space. The classes develop the ability to formulate critical questions and answers in the discourse of contemporary art. Students should be aware of available means and technologies which will enable them to carry out their projects. As a creator of authorial projects, he/she should know and have basic knowledge about functioning on the art market. The culmination of the work supported by the technical knowledge gained in class should be a Master's thesis. |
