Prerequisites

Fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of interior design,
Mastered basic professional workshop enriched with humanistic knowledge and artistic experience.
Computer skills (knowledge of Autocad, Archicad, SketchUp and other 2D and 3D programs)
Knowledge of technical and perspective drawing
Basic knowledge in the field of ergonomics of living space Ability to think logically, artistic talents,
creativity in the use of spatial imagination

Teaching goals (program content, subject description)

Classes in the Studio will show the value of architecture as a special form of creativity, architecture understood as a multithreaded work of art with a special extraction of its ideological values.
The area of ​​project activities will be broadly understood symbolic space; cultural, memorial, funeral and religious.
What will be important will be the process that forms the message of meaning, from the idea, through creative activities, to the intended perception of the recipient, as well as the skilful selection of materials and technologies.
The didactic goal is to understand interior design as a process indivisibly harmonizing with architectural design; showing the unity of architecture as the art of shaping both the body of the building and its interior; arousing student's interest and even passion for creative design work.
The program is designed to develop the skills of creative and logical design thinking, based on technical and humanistic knowledge, spatial imagination and artistic sensitivity.
As part of the teaching, content on architectural design and interior design in the context of the space of public utility facilities and their surroundings are provided.
The freedom to choose the location of the building that is the subject of the diploma thesis makes each project different and unique. While developing the shape of the building, the student simultaneously works on a mock-up or a 3D model.
The topics discussed are:
• functional and spatial arrangement of public utility buildings
• the context of architecture in the existing landscape or urban development-
respecting the features of the existing cultural landscape
• principles of spatial composition
• paraphrase and metaphor in architectural space
• narrative and symbol in architecture, religious and universal symbols
• symbolism and the canon of Christian sacred spaces
• symbolism of light, daylight as a mood-building element.
• the latest construction and material solutions, available technologies
• elements of urban composition
• connecting the interior with the exterior
• structural color in architecture and interiors
• multiculturalism and intercultural dialogue as an inspiration for creative design activities
• the latest trends and styles in architecture and interior design in Poland and in the world.

The form of passing the course (assesment methods and criteria)

Evaluation of the student's individual work according to the grading scale provided in the Study Regulations
from 0 to 5+. The assessment consists of:
• Independence of design decisions 30%
• Creativity (artistic level and innovativeness of proposed solutions) 20%
• Correctness of functional, structural and building solutions,
materials 30%
• Active participation in classes (attendance) 10%
• Artistic level of the final graphic design 10%

Final requirements

Public defense of the project in a graphic form, on boards of a given format
Saving the project on electronic media in JPG format
The study contains drawings of the architectural design with elements of interior design: situation, projections, sections, elevations, conceptual sketches, photos from the working model, wall extensions, visualizations and perspective drawings; descriptions of the adopted solutions, materials and interior design elements used.
Drawings in scales: 1:500. 1:100, 1:50, 1:25, 1:20
The study assumes a catalog selection of furniture and equipment as well as lighting elements.

K_U02 use a highly developed artistic personality to create, implement and express their own original artistic concepts
