30 hrs - introductory lectures - 4 hrs. - project consutlations, participation in full-time classes - 26 h.

Liczba godzin samodzielnej pracy studenta związanych z osiągnięciem efektów uczenia się (zgodnie z profilem specyfiki kształcenia na wydziale)

30 h. – przygotowanie do zajęć i realizacja projektów, (tj. research, zapoznanie się z literaturą, przygotowanie prezentacji, praca własna nad projektem, przygotowanie wydruków)

Prerequisites

Passed an entrance exam, working knowledge of software (Illustrator, Indesign) sufficient to perform the tasks

Teaching goals (program content, subject description)

acquiring basic skills in the use of text composition on a plane, visual interpretation of text with the help of conditioned means of expression, mastering the skills of substantive use of color and typographic form

The form of passing the course (assesment methods and criteria)

Evaluation of the student's individual work, the degree of independence in performing tasks, evaluation of the student's attendance and involvement (both in his/her own projects and in discussions and debates conducted in class), evaluation of the level of knowledge and skills according to the grading scale provided in the Rules and Regulations.

Influence of attendance on the grade: more than two unexcused absences in a semester have the effect of lowering the grade by 1 grade, from the initial grade based on the above criteria. Unexcused attendance in 50% of classes results in failing the course.

Final requirements

Ability to consciously use typographic techniques, to creatively seek creative solutions within typography; knowledge of basic typographic concepts and technological possibilities in typography.

K_W01 - principles of creation and creation of basic graphic works
of a design character on the basis of traditional tools and modern technologies of
of graphic programmes.

K_W02 - problems connected with the theory of graphic design basics on the historical
and cultural background, necessary for defining and solving detailed issues related to the
the studied discipline.

K_W03 - the mutual, complex relations occurring between theoretical and practical
aspects of typography and uses this knowledge for further artistic development;

allowing for the realisation of individual and

both digital and traditional, and is able to develop them independently and expand their possibilities;
