AW/S/1/KK/03.

The subject of compulsory directional education at the second year of full-time first-degree studies.

Didactic methods

Individual project (on the second year of study) under the tutor's supervision ended with student’s presentation.

Lectures on interior design in the field of living space and small public buildings (modern solutions for living space).

Dialogue and didactic discussion either about individual student’s project or in group to prepare student for further learning of design.

Prerequisites

Student should passed positively the commission review after the first year of studies,

mastering the basic tools of the interior architect's workshop i.e. freehand drawing and basic of architectural drawing;

basic skills of working in at least 2D programs (for example : AutoCad, ArchiCad, SketchUp)

and knowledge of basic issues in the field of ergonomics of the living space.

Final requirements

The most important thing is that the work of the student's ends is independent and constitutes an interesting, as far as possible consistent, visual vision of space.

Students prepares the presentation of independent home projects in graphic form - sketches, layouts and perspectives or visualizations  - on 50x50cm or 50x100cm boards.

In addition, it presents adopted functional and space solutions of the facility as a preparation for the development of the project work in the 4th semester.

Teaching goals (program content, subject description)

Motivate students to understand the interior design - based on studies of space - resulting from the natural and cultural environment.

To persuade them to make independent decisions regarding the capability of space, functionality of solutions with regard to legal norms and construction issues.

Teaching and discuss of students choices and selection of artistic means and methods of visual communication adequate to their ideas.

Knowledge - the student should acquire knowledge in the area of:

K_W02  Rules regarding the implementation of artistic works related to the field of study and faculty; including the conscious use of artistic means in creating,

modifying and organizing the space and understanding the context of architecture in the city and the open landscape as well as functional connections within the living space;

K_W03 How to obtain information about standards, project requirements, issues related to building techniques and materials necessary in the design process;

K_W04 Basic rules for art workshop in interior design and various techniques for project presentation, including 2D and 3D computer techniques; proper selection of the media for the presentation of the proposed spatial creation;

K_W07 Knowledge of trends in interior design and furnishing.

Description of the requirements for the studio, workshop or teaching aids

The room in which classes are conducted should be equipped with properly lit       workplaces, enabling work on drawings,

and in the case of lectures with a multimedia projector and laptop or desktop computer, equipped with basic Open Office software and programs for AutoCad, Photoshop and Sketch Up.

Students should have possibility of copying and printing drawings in A4, A3 format.

Availability of free educational computer programs for the needs of interior architects and training for students and lecturers.

The weekly number of hours of classes or lectures, the number of ECTS points assigned to the subject and information on the form and completion of the subject are included in the study program and Course Cataloque (information is displayed in Akademus system)
