Didactic methods |
Lectures, didactic dialogue and complementary exercises. Lectures conducted at the first year of the Interior Architecture Department are a minimum program and at the same time are propaedeutic for the interior design or exhibition design .This subject gives students the opportunity to use information about functional principles resulting from the limitations of human perception and anatomy. Serie of lectures: 1. Ergonomics as a science. The basic scope of knowledge about a human anthropomorphic data. 2. Space of interpersonal interaction. Basic principles of designing public space, rest and relaxation space. 3. Ergonomics in kitchen design. The kitchen configurations. 4. Bathrooms’ design. Basic data on bathroom equipment for the disabled. 5. Design of office space and reception. The basic knowledge on workplaces in an office space. 6. Corrective ergonomics. The future of ergonomics in design for the elderly and the disabled. 7. Staircases. Types, solutions and requirements resulting from legal provisions and the requirements of the construction law. Practical drawing exercises: Sketches of a student, who performs simple activities of everyday life with the indication of certain spatial boundaries and space requirements as the height of worktops to work, range when doing simple activities. On the basis of the given projections of the kitchen space (* 5 types) present the solution of the correct kitchen sequences. On the basis of given bathroom plans (* 5 types), design the optimal arrangement of devices and fittings. In a dimensionally defined space (* 5 examples), design office workstations (with specific basic parameters). Having given the height of the rooms in the light, provide vertical communication solutions for different users (* minimum 10 variants) * given number of examples for a group of students to differentiate tasks and prevent dependent work

Prerequisites |
Students who have passed manual entrance exams - drawing / character, study from nature, subject /, painting / study from nature or color exercises. Knowledge of composition - constructing layouts on the plane and in space /, sculpture / spatial composition from imagination /, spatial imagination tests and positively classified commission review (obligatory) after the first semester of study. |

Final requirements |
Performing practical drawing exercises: Sketches of a student who performs simple activities of everyday life with the indication of certain spatial boundaries and space requirements for example, the height of worktops to work, range when doing simple activities. On the basis of the given projections of the kitchen space (* 5 types) present the solution of the correct kitchen layouts. On the basis of given bathroom plans (* 5 types), design the optimal arrangement of devices and fittings. In a dimensionally defined space (* 5 examples), design office workstations (with specific basic parameters). Having given the height of the rooms in the light, provide vertical communication solutions for different users (* minimum 10 variants) * given number of examples for a group of students to differentiate tasks and prevent cheating; The compulsory checking test. |

The form of passing the course (assesment methods and criteria) |
1. Assessment of the level of knowledge and the use of information obtained during the lecture in making aware design decisions. 2. Assessment of the level of artistic and technical performance of student's work (drawing exercises). 3. Assessment of the degree of student's involvement in the implementation of the program (attendance, active participation in classes). 4. Rating scale according to the rules valid at the Faculty of Interior Architecture from 1-5 +. The way to check the achievement of intended effects: attendance at lectures - 25% checking test - 30% preparation of drawing exercises - 30% activity during classes - 15%. Assessment: on the scale of assessments applicable at the Faculty of Interior Design from 2-5 +. |

Teaching goals (program content, subject description) |
Lectures conducted at the first year of the Interior Architecture Department are the minimum program and at the same time are propaedeutic in the faculty of interior design or exhibition design. This subject gives students the opportunity to use information about functional principles resulting from the limitations of human perception and anatomy. The student should be able to understand the differences in the project for the individual as an individual subject and the design of common spaces due to interpersonal activities and security requirements. He should be aware of universal design - treating disabled and elderly people as full members of society. |
