Teaching goals (program content, subject description)
|
The aim of the course is to develop the ability to consciously shape an individual visual language of artistic expression and to understand the principles of composition and spatial relationships. The classes develop the ability to observe, describe, analyse and interpret works of art and visual phenomena.
The course content focuses on learning and practically applying the concepts and principles of visual composition, with particular emphasis on the specific nature of sculpture: relationships between solid forms, planes and other spatial elements. Students investigate the mutual interaction of forms and ways of organising space through independent exercises and experimentation with materials, techniques and compositional arrangements.
The programme is open-ended. Students independently select themes or relationships as starting points for their assignments, make decisions regarding their solutions and develop their own forms of artistic expression. The working process involves experimentation, analysis of the results obtained and refinement of the adopted solutions.
An essential part of the classes consists of presentations and group discussions of students’ work. Analysing their own work and that of other students, together with discussion, serves to deepen awareness of the artistic means employed, develop the ability to formulate independent judgements and foster constructive engagement with diverse artistic approaches.

The form of passing the course (assesment methods and criteria)
|
-
The assessment of student achievement is based on the completion of the course programme, the quality of the work produced, active participation in classes, and involvement in the presentation and discussion of artistic issues.
Assessment criteria include: - The artistic and technical quality of the work produced. - The level of engagement in completing the course programme. - Active participation in describing and analysing one’s own work and the work of other students. - The level of knowledge and the ability to reason logically in relation to the artistic issues addressed and their interdisciplinary context. - The ability to present work publicly and articulate ideas concerning one’s own artistic practice. - The final grade is determined in accordance with the grading scale and assessment rules applicable at the Faculty.
|
|
Final requirements
|
1. Preparation and presentation of art work done in class for committee review. 2. Commission review after the first and second semester. 3. Final presentation of artistic work done in the third and fourth semester combined with an exam.
Due to the epidemiological threat, the reviews will take place in a hybrid mode: stationary and / or remote. Depending on the individual case, as well as the development of the pandemic situation.
