| Teaching goals (program content, subject description) |
Wykłady (w semestrze zimowym i letnim) poświęcone będą związkom kulturowym i artystycznym między Europą a Azją, Afryką i Amerykami w okresie 1400-1650. Tradycyjna definicja epoki Renesansu jako odrodzenia tradycji antycznej zostanie rozszerzona i aby wskazać kluczowe znaczenie zjawisk związanych z nowymi kontaktami handlowymi, wymianą towarową i kolonizacją. Omówione zostaną m.in. zagadnienia związane z kartografią, “odkryciami” geograficznymi, wczesne przedstawienia innych kontynentów, kwestie rasy w kulturze wizualnej, import i eksport obiektów artystycznych z/do Europy, artystyczne hybrydy, exotica w kolekcjach nowożynych.
